L.O.V.E. by Nat King Cole and this particular video because The Parent Trap was the first place I heard it.

When Adam's Flesh and Adam's bone sits at Cair Paravel in throne, the evil time will be over and done.

Oh how I'd love to live in a fantsay world like Narnia. With Knights who actually ride in on white horses, where aminals talk and magic happens.

day 3 - A silly photo of you

This photo is crazy old, from like '07 but it was the only silly photo that I could remember. I'm sure I've got heaps more I just couldn't remember them. :P

day 2 - Your favourite book

If you know me at all, which I guess you don't, you'd know that I am a huge reader and books are my life, I'm even currently studying to become a editor. So it came as a huge surprise to me that I don't actually have a favourite book.

I always thought that the Happy Potter series as a whole was my favourite - it definitely had a huge impact on my life and I still want a HP related tattoo - but I'm not sure that it is my favourite book/series, at least, not anymore.

I looked up too my book shelf when I started to write this and realised that I don't have my Harry Potter books with me anymore. I don't exactly have the largest amount of storage space for books anymore so most of mine are at home with mum but still considering how much I love HP I'm slightly shocked that they didn't make the cut! Thinking back now I'm pretty sure that I didn't bring my HP books with me 'cause I figured that any library would have them and seeing as I live on campus and about a 4 minute walk from the library it wouldn't be too difficult to get them out.

ps. these are the books that did make it cut

I definitely have a favourite genre though, all but four of the books that I have with me are fantasy.

day 1 - A picture of the city you were born in

Australia and I have never had the biggest love affair. Summer is too long and winter doesn't go for nearly long enough. It is too hot for me, too sunny, too sandy, too Australian. I have a burn time of about 5 minutes, even with sunscreen, but even so it's where I was born and where I grew up. I guess I'll always have a little bit of a soft spot for Australia - that tiny little while in the middle of winter where it is sufficiently sold enough.

Top ten favourite things of all time

Was reading this post over at Smaggle Style and she asked her readers what there top ten favourite things of all time where and listed her own and it got me thinking about what things I value the most.

So here's my list, in no particular order because it was hard enough deciding on just 10 things.

  • Books / the smell of old books
  • Vanilla perfume
  • Rain
  • Cold winter days
  • Watermelon juice
  • Lucas' papaw ointment - it seriously saves my life and my poor dry lips
  • My key necklace
  • Ted
  • Laughing
  • Indie style
lace love love

ps. some of the things that didn't quite make my list are travelling, photography, cuddles, New York City, dancing, frozen yogurt with mixed berries from Wendy's, sleep, Coca-Cola, cute old couples still in love, good hair days - they can instantly make a day feel better - and Harry Potter (oh wow I kinda cant believe that HP actually didn't make the list, it would definitely come in at number 11).

disregard: lack of attention and due care

I've been really neglectful lately but I finally have a laptop so I should be able to blog a bit more, even if I only have a tenuous internet connection. I think that I have actually missed it.

Life has been pretty crazy lately. I've moved out of home - a huge step for me - and I'm starting as a first year uni student all over again, among other things. I've only done a week of my new course but I'm already in love. It's just so much more enjoyable that my last one - I'm actually learning about things that I want to be learning about.

I don't know if I've said this before but I want to be an editor or anything in the publishing industry really. I've always loved books but it was only last year that I realised that I loved them more than anything. So, in my new course I'm minoring in editing and I had my first class for that last Monday and the lecturer said something that I guess I'd never really realised before - that editors have to be writers as well - Only I'm not really the best writer. I always get total mind blanks and can never thing of anything to write, especially when I'm put on the spot and have to write something immediately in class.

I've always firmly believed the old cliché that to write well you must first write what you know - which I now realise is completely ridiculous considering the amount of fantasy and science fiction that I read. However, I’ve always felt that I never had anything interesting enough to write about, that I wasn’t an interesting enough person, I guess. I’ve always wanted to write, and have always liked it as well – I just want to write, to write anything at all but when I’m writing something I’m always to pre-occupied wondering what other people might think of it to actually focus of the writing much.

I figure that this blog is the perfect place to practice my writing so expect to see many more posts from me (not that they will necessarily be filled with writing about writing or writing at all for that matter, still love the pictures.) I'm also thinking about doing some outfit posts, I've got many new friends at uni whose help I could enlist to take the photos. Also, if I write about it here than I actually have to do it.

Time for me to go to bed, I've got work tomorrow. Night all

To add a library to a house is to give that house a soul.

Happy New Year guys, sorry I haven't posted in ages. I'm presently on a friends computer but as I'm moving to the big bad city for uni in only two short weeks I am really going to need my own computer. So as soon as Apple releases the newest version MacBook Pro I'm snapping one up. (Please, please, PLEASE let it be soon.) And regular posting (not that my posting has ever really been regular, much like my period, sorry, I know TMI) will resume. But in the meantime I leave you with some librarys/bookshelves that I would love to have.

How seriously cool would it be to have this staircase bookcase.

I'm really sorry but I dont have the credits for any of these, I found them stuffed away in a forgotten file on my USB.

all grown up

How I wish this actually was a post about Rugrats.

I was reading Ms. Muse's lastest post and it took me a little while to realise who I was looking at. It's Dakota Fanning on the cover, hasn't she grown up.

Now I just want my copy of Teen Vogue to hurry up and get here, I think Miss Dakota Fanning is a fabulous covergirl for my last Teen Vogue. I figure seeing as I'm not a teenager anymore I wont renew my subscription. I think I might subscribe to Oyster instead.

In other news I just ordered my first pair of Jeffrey Campbell shoes, the 99 zip wedge. They are on backorder until the end of December but I dont imagine I'd get much wear out of them in summer in anycase.

Love, love, love.

As much as I love the Acne ones that I posted about a couple of months ago I think I love these even more, much more in my price range and also much more walkable. Plus the Acne ones have been sold out for ages.

shop shabd )) leggings + shorts + tights )) aurora

Shabd: Inspired by Hubble telescope photos of worlds being born and stars dying. They bring design, chance and chaos into a perfect balance.

I am wild about these stockings.

and these tights are also pretty rad.

Unfortunately they are a little bit out of my price range but I found these slightly similar ones from We Love Colours instead. They aren’t quite as cool but they are much more in my price range.

Nathalia Ponomareva: Green Berry Tea

I cant remember where I first saw these tea bags - I think it was on someones twitter feed -. But aren't the birdie teabags just the cutest ting you ever saw?

"Nice project here designed by Nathalia Ponomareva from Russia. These tea bags created by the principles of origami. While the tea infuses the bird or the shape is gradually expanding. This is very poetic."

Green Berry Tea

Does anyone have any idea where I could buy some of these? Or something similar?

United Paper People

"So hit the lights and turn the record up now
I hope you hear this in your sleep
Spin off the typical I miss you baby
Who would've thought we were so deep
"

summary : i never miss anything how i missed you ...

I was going through my CD's the other day and come across a Kisschasey one and realised that I hadn't listened to them in ages, so lent over for my ipod and found out that they werent on it!! Complete oversight i know, I have no idea how I forgot to put it on to the computer or how it got deleted (seeing as it is a burnt CD and all).

But
I had completely forgotten just how much I love Kisschasey.
I remember the first time I heard them, it must have been the end/beginning of 2005/2006 , regardless it was the 2005/2006 summer holidays and I was at a friends 18th. The party was starting to wind down and I was sitting out the back in the garden listening to music - didn't know it at the time but it was Kisschasey's United Paper People album - when the most adorable guy came out and sat with me. I cant remember what we talked about or how it came up but eventually he started talking about the song that we were listing to. I don't remember what he said about the song either but I get the feeling that he liked it. I don't really remember what happened after this either. I think the birthday girl and a couple of other people came back outside with sleeping bags and we started talking about the stars, and he and I didnt say much to each other again. But from now on when ever I hear of Kisschasey I'll always think of his smile as he talk to me.

I know I've been absent for a while but now that semester is over and I don't have to worry for a while about those pesky assignments that seem to get in the way of life I'll have more time for this blog and I'm looking forward to getting back into it.

Wow that is the longest runon sentence I've written in a while.

Anyway, glad to be back and I hope I've still got a few readers left.

FAshion HAyley

I've been reading Fashion Hayley on and off for about a year now and I never realised that she was also a stylist, and an awesome one at that.

I'm just loving everything about these images.

Frederic Bastin

I love Oyster. I've never read Oyster before but after only one flip through, I love Oyster. Oyster brought me to photographer Frederic Bastin and these photographs.

The British Farmers & The Math teacher and his Student

The Churchgowers

The Musicians & The Cowboys

The Forest People - which is my favourite, not just for the image itself but also for the caption that goes with it.

Living in a secret forrest village Rachel and Toon have many chores to complete. Rachel must collect berries every dawn and Toon is to chop wood. But last week in between chores - in the deepest, most hidden part of the forrest - they secretly shared a kiss.

Which then lead me to his website and these photographs, which I also love.

Hans Christian Anderson

So, today, I was on Threadless because they are having a $9 sale for 09.09.09 and was looking at the old tee's that I voted for and came across this one. I'd forgotten just how much I love it but then I go to the creaters website and come across the orginal drawing and now I just cannot decide which version I like more, opinions??
