all grown up

How I wish this actually was a post about Rugrats.

I was reading Ms. Muse's lastest post and it took me a little while to realise who I was looking at. It's Dakota Fanning on the cover, hasn't she grown up.

Now I just want my copy of Teen Vogue to hurry up and get here, I think Miss Dakota Fanning is a fabulous covergirl for my last Teen Vogue. I figure seeing as I'm not a teenager anymore I wont renew my subscription. I think I might subscribe to Oyster instead.

In other news I just ordered my first pair of Jeffrey Campbell shoes, the 99 zip wedge. They are on backorder until the end of December but I dont imagine I'd get much wear out of them in summer in anycase.

Love, love, love.

As much as I love the Acne ones that I posted about a couple of months ago I think I love these even more, much more in my price range and also much more walkable. Plus the Acne ones have been sold out for ages.

shop shabd )) leggings + shorts + tights )) aurora

Shabd: Inspired by Hubble telescope photos of worlds being born and stars dying. They bring design, chance and chaos into a perfect balance.

I am wild about these stockings.

and these tights are also pretty rad.

Unfortunately they are a little bit out of my price range but I found these slightly similar ones from We Love Colours instead. They aren’t quite as cool but they are much more in my price range.

Nathalia Ponomareva: Green Berry Tea

I cant remember where I first saw these tea bags - I think it was on someones twitter feed -. But aren't the birdie teabags just the cutest ting you ever saw?

"Nice project here designed by Nathalia Ponomareva from Russia. These tea bags created by the principles of origami. While the tea infuses the bird or the shape is gradually expanding. This is very poetic."

Green Berry Tea

Does anyone have any idea where I could buy some of these? Or something similar?

United Paper People

"So hit the lights and turn the record up now
I hope you hear this in your sleep
Spin off the typical I miss you baby
Who would've thought we were so deep
"

summary : i never miss anything how i missed you ...

I was going through my CD's the other day and come across a Kisschasey one and realised that I hadn't listened to them in ages, so lent over for my ipod and found out that they werent on it!! Complete oversight i know, I have no idea how I forgot to put it on to the computer or how it got deleted (seeing as it is a burnt CD and all).

But
I had completely forgotten just how much I love Kisschasey.
I remember the first time I heard them, it must have been the end/beginning of 2005/2006 , regardless it was the 2005/2006 summer holidays and I was at a friends 18th. The party was starting to wind down and I was sitting out the back in the garden listening to music - didn't know it at the time but it was Kisschasey's United Paper People album - when the most adorable guy came out and sat with me. I cant remember what we talked about or how it came up but eventually he started talking about the song that we were listing to. I don't remember what he said about the song either but I get the feeling that he liked it. I don't really remember what happened after this either. I think the birthday girl and a couple of other people came back outside with sleeping bags and we started talking about the stars, and he and I didnt say much to each other again. But from now on when ever I hear of Kisschasey I'll always think of his smile as he talk to me.

I know I've been absent for a while but now that semester is over and I don't have to worry for a while about those pesky assignments that seem to get in the way of life I'll have more time for this blog and I'm looking forward to getting back into it.

Wow that is the longest runon sentence I've written in a while.

Anyway, glad to be back and I hope I've still got a few readers left.

FAshion HAyley

I've been reading Fashion Hayley on and off for about a year now and I never realised that she was also a stylist, and an awesome one at that.

I'm just loving everything about these images.

Frederic Bastin

I love Oyster. I've never read Oyster before but after only one flip through, I love Oyster. Oyster brought me to photographer Frederic Bastin and these photographs.

The British Farmers & The Math teacher and his Student

The Churchgowers

The Musicians & The Cowboys

The Forest People - which is my favourite, not just for the image itself but also for the caption that goes with it.

Living in a secret forrest village Rachel and Toon have many chores to complete. Rachel must collect berries every dawn and Toon is to chop wood. But last week in between chores - in the deepest, most hidden part of the forrest - they secretly shared a kiss.

Which then lead me to his website and these photographs, which I also love.

Hans Christian Anderson

So, today, I was on Threadless because they are having a $9 sale for 09.09.09 and was looking at the old tee's that I voted for and came across this one. I'd forgotten just how much I love it but then I go to the creaters website and come across the orginal drawing and now I just cannot decide which version I like more, opinions??

Atacoma pre A/W 09

Red Lipstick

When looking through quotes for this post title I came across two that I could juts not decide between.

"Where lipstick is concerned, the important thing is not color, but to accept God's final word on where your lips end." Which sadly was said not by a fashionista but by Jerry Seinfeld.

and

"Beauty, to me, is about being comfortable in your own skin. That, or a kick-ass red lipstick." Gwyneth Paltrow

I have long loved bright red lipstick and envied the people who can pull it off.

Despite some seriously hideous choices in rugs and and chair coverings, this is a personal library setup to rock my socks.

Seriously, WHAT!

For some reason the blog isnt showing up properly, so testish post to see if it will work.

--------------

Okay, so that was really, really random. For some reason Blogger didn't like a post that I had made so it stuffed up my entire blog. So I had to delete that post, it wasn't the most riveting of posts but it is still annoying that that is what had to be done in order for my blog to be visable again. hmpht.

notebooks.

One can never have too many notebooks, I was just reading this topic over at the frankie forum and I realised that I do in fact lust after too many notebooks.

A long time favourite has, of course, been Moleskine. I've only ever had one of their notebooks before, one of the City ones but I think that I might have to get another one after seeing this 2010 dairy of theirs.
It is a day a page dairy and as we know they cans be quite bulky and hard to carry around, so Moleskine have thoughtfully split it into 12 little notebooks but with a hard cover to keep them in when not on that month. I think I'm in love.

Another brand that I am fast falling for is O-Check. they have some pretty adorable designs.

And I have got to stop talking about notebooks because I get payed today and I might just be tempted to blow a large chunk of it on them.

Not all of them are notebooks per se but they are all papergoods so I think they count.

Emma Watson

Being an avid Harry Potter fan from way back when the third book came out I was pleasantly surprised when Miss Watson appeared on the cover of the current issue of Teen Vogue.

Having only just watched the first movie when it was on T.V. last weekend I couldn’t help but wonder where the time had gone, and when Emma had had the time to grow up, despite our being the same age.

I adore these Miu Miu teacup heels. They come in two different styles and quite a few colours but these are without a doubt my absolute favourites.

rain, rain.

Tashkent Carrow flat by mociun

These shoes are the perfect ones in which to do a rain dance. As I hate summer and would love to bring in winter a little bit early this year as soon as I saw these beauties I couldn't help but feel as if they would complete the perfect rain dance ensemble to usher winter into 2009.

Exchange

“He had a whole collection of beautiful notebooks himself. He loved stationery. But he hardly ever used it. Like his gran he felt that he’s be spoiling it, even trying to put his ideas onto paper. He’d tried a couple of times, but become too embarrassed and self-conscious in the attempt. By now he knew that he’d never be a writer. ‘We’re readers. That’s what we are,’ he told his gran. ‘And we read enough to know that we can’t do it. To know that writing is hard.’”

Vintage frames

A while ago while I scouring the internet for vintage looking frames for photos I came across these frames - as in glasses - saved them on my computer and found them again yesterday while I was attempting to organize the files on my computer.

This pair is rather nice and are surprisingly from Apperican Apparel

These ones, which I love but cannot remember where I got them from.

And these loverly ones. I just love the model as well, don't you?

L.O.V.E.

L is for the way you look at me
O is for the only one I see
V is very, very extraordinary
E is even more than anyone that you adore can love
L-O-V-E, Nat King Cole

I received a chain mail email type thing and usually I’m not the biggest fan of them but this one was just so adorable I just had to share.

What does 'Love' mean?
A group of professional people posed this question to a group of 4 to 8 year-olds, 'What does 'love' mean?' The answers they got were broader and deeper than anyone could have imagined.

'When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn't bend over and paint her toenails anymore. So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That's love.'
Rebecca- age 8

'When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You just know that your name is safe in their mouth.'
Billy - age 4

by mikki

'Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other.'
Karl - age 5

'Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs.'
Chrissie- age 6

'Love is what makes you smile when you're tired.'
Terri - age 4

'Love is when my mummy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK.'
Danny - age 7

'If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend who you hate,'
Nikka - age 6

'Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday.'
Noelle - age 7

'Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well.'
Tommy - age 6

'My mummy loves me more than anybody. You don't see anyone else kissing me to sleep at night.'
Clare - age 6

'Love is when Mummy gives Daddy the best piece of chicken.'
Elaine-age 5

'Love is when Mummy sees Daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is handsomer than Robert Redford.'
Chris - age
'Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day'
Mary Ann - age 4

'I know my older sister loves me because she gives me all her old clothes and has to go out and buy new ones.'
Lauren - age 4

'When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you.'
Karen - age 7

And my two favourites:

'You really shouldn't say 'I love you' unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget.'
Jessica - age 8

'Love is what's in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen.'
Bobby - age 7
